The college, represented by Ms. Jihan Al-Adhobi, participated in the 7th Annual Forum of the Student Counseling Center at Sultan Qaboos University, titled “Training Professionals in Psychological Counseling: Reality, Challenges, and Future Prospects in Oman”, held on 24/9/2024 under the patronage of Prof. Abdullah bin Khamis Al-Kindi, Head of the Department of Media at the College of Arts and Social Sciences and Member of the State Council.
The forum highlighted the latest practices and training programs in psychological counseling, discussed ethical and professional challenges, and analyzed the impact of training policies on the quality of services. Dr. Maha Abdulmajid Al-Ani, Director of the Student Counseling Center, emphasized the center’s leadership in preparing qualified national cadres and enhancing their professional competence.
The forum also focused on evaluating training programs, addressing ethical challenges, and promoting professional collaboration, and included two scientific sessions in which seven specialized papers were presented, addressing professionals’ competencies and future prospects in the field.
The forum affirmed the university’s commitment to developing the capabilities of national cadres in psychological counseling and enabling them to provide high-quality services that support the community and enhance mental well-being.
