The Training
and Career Guidance Office at the Oman College of Management and Technology
(OCMT) continues its mission to prepare students for professional excellence by
hosting a dynamic and engaging workshop titled “Building a Winning Tech
Résumé.” The event took place on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:00
AM in Room AC-207, led by Dr. Ishtiaque Mahmood Abdul Sattar, who brought his
extensive expertise to help students stand out in the competitive world of
technology careers.
With the tech industry evolving rapidly, a strong résumé has become more than just a list of qualifications it’s a powerful personal branding tool. Dr. Ishtiaque guided participants through the art and science of crafting résumés that capture attention and communicate impact. The workshop provided students especially those from computing and information systems programs with practical strategies to showcase their technical skills, projects, and achievements in a clear, concise, and compelling way.
Throughout the session, students discovered how to write professional summaries that shine, structure their résumés for maximum readability, and use action-driven language to highlight accomplishments. Dr. Ishtiaque also shared insider tips on tailoring résumés for specific job roles and optimizing them for Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) a crucial step in today’s digital recruitment processes.
