A team of students from Oman College of Management and Technology participated in the 8th edition of the "International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Security Week 2024," held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre from December 9 to 12. The team included five students from the Departments of Computer Science and Management Information Systems and was led by faculty member Mr. Louay Al-Nuaimy.

The ICAO Security Week is a global event hosted for the first time outside ICAO headquarters in Montreal. It welcomed over 600 officials and experts from various member states and international organizations. The event aims to enhance global aviation security, address critical security challenges, and develop solutions to issues facing civil aviation, including cybersecurity and infrastructure protection.

During their participation, the students benefited from panel discussions and workshops covering diverse topics such as the Global Aviation Security Plan, preparedness for aviation security audits, and empowering youth in aviation security. A highlight of the event was a youth-focused session titled "Empowering Youth: Achieving Gender Balance in Aviation Security," which emphasized the role of youth in enhancing aviation security and featured inspiring success stories.

This participation highlights Oman College of Management and Technology's commitment to preparing its students for active contributions in international events and enhancing their practical skills in a globally competitive environment. It reflects the college's vision to provide its students with real-world opportunities to engage with global experts and explore the latest developments in their fields of specialization.
