Muscat, Oman – December 2024 – Oman College of Management and Technology (OCMT) and the The American University of Kurdistan (AUK) in Kurdistan Region, Iraq have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance academic cooperation, research initiatives, and faculty and student exchanges. The agreement, signed by Dr. Hazem Migdady, Dean of OCMT, and Dr. Randall Rhodes, President of AUK, marks a significant step in fostering a long-term partnership between the two institutions.
The MoU outlines key areas of collaboration, including the development of internationally accredited academic programs, faculty and student exchange programs, joint research projects, and professional development initiatives. Both institutions will work together on curriculum enhancement, hosting workshops and conferences, and integrating advanced technology into education and administration.
OCMT will ensure that the collaboration aligns with Oman’s educational regulations and the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) standards. AUK will provide expertise in quality assurance, conduct academic audits, and support the development of innovative programs aligned with global trends.
A core focus of the agreement is sustainability, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship—key pillars of Oman Vision 2040. Both institutions will address regional and global challenges through joint research, community engagement, and technological innovations.
The MoU will remain in effect for four years, with the possibility of renewal upon mutual agreement. Regular evaluations will be conducted to ensure the partnership's success and continuous improvement.
This collaboration is expected to provide new opportunities for students, faculty, and researchers from both institutions, fostering academic excellence and global engagement.
