The Training and Career Guidance Office at Oman College of Management and Technology (OCMT) successfully organized an engaging and interactive workshop titled “Negotiation Dynamics in Business Success” on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM in Room AC-107. The session was delivered by Dr. Baby Thomas, who shared his expertise in negotiation strategies and communication techniques within business environments.
The workshop aimed to enhance students’ ability to navigate negotiation scenarios effectively by developing strong communication skills, understanding negotiation styles, and applying strategic approaches to achieve successful business outcomes. Dr. Thomas emphasized the importance of preparation, clarity of message, active listening, and the use of persuasive techniques in professional settings.
Throughout the session, students explored essential negotiation concepts such as identifying interests versus positions, crafting win-win solutions, managing disagreements constructively, and adopting confidence-building behaviors. Real-world examples and practical exercises helped participants connect theoretical frameworks to workplace applications.
A key part of the workshop focused on how negotiation competence contributes to leadership effectiveness and organizational success. Students engaged in interactive discussions and short practice activities that allowed them to analyze scenarios, apply strategies, and receive immediate feedback.
This hands-on workshop provided an excellent opportunity for students to strengthen their professional communication skills, build confidence in business interactions, and better prepare for future career challenges. The practical insights and strategies shared during the session offered students actionable tools they can apply across multiple business and management contexts.
This initiative reflects OCMT’s ongoing commitment to supporting students’ professional development. The Training and Career Guidance Office continues to play a pivotal role in enhancing students’ career readiness by offering targeted training programs that bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world business competencies.
