The Office of Training and Career Guidance conducted an important workshop titled "Soft Skills Development," where participants got valuable insights that enhance their professional profiles and distinguish them in the competitive job market. This workshop took place on Monday, April 29, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, in Room AC-107 in the academic building. This initiative aligns with the college's commitment to developing practical, applicable skills for students, aiming to equip them with the necessary tools and strategies for success in today's dynamic job market.

The distinguished Ms. Sara Ahmed from the General Foundation Program department led the session, leveraging her extensive experience in the field. The session was rich in knowledge, with the objective of empowering participants and guiding them on focusing on fundamental skills such as communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving.

Among the notable features of the workshop was the clarification of the importance of training in soft skills, which focus on developing capabilities like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving alongside technical skills that emphasize the student's technical proficiency. Other soft skills include emotional intelligence, positive behavior, and taking initiative. Personal skill development is often underestimated in the workplace; however, it is no less important than technical skills.

While technical skills are related to specific industries or roles, soft skills are related to personality and behavior. Teaching technical skills such as data analysis, report preparation, or mathematical abilities is relatively straightforward, but training in soft skills can be more challenging because it involves teaching new behaviors and ways of thinking. Additionally, measuring the effectiveness of personal skills training in the workplace can be more difficult because it is generally less quantitative. Creating an effective plan for developing personal skills training and selecting the best e-learning platform can make the difference between success and failure.

In conclusion of the workshop, participants expressed great admiration for the content, organization, and interactivity, affirming that it added significant value to their professional development and enhanced their opportunities for employment.
