Summary of the Role

The Head of the Quality Assurance Department will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring quality assurance systems and policies across all academic and administrative units of the College. The post holder will lead institutional and program-level accreditation activities, promote a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) standards and Oman Vision 2040.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the development and implementation of the College's Quality Assurance Framework in alignment with OAAAQA standards.

Supervise institutional and program accreditation processes, ensuring compliance with the National Qualifications Framework and related requirements.

Develop and implement data-driven systems to support strategic decision-making and performance monitoring.

Prepare comprehensive institutional reports and self-assessment portfolios following the ADRI (Approach, Deployment, Results, Improvement) methodology.

Advise and support all academic and administrative departments in achieving their quality objectives and meeting institutional and national quality requirements.

Monitor and evaluate institutional performance, ensuring the continuous improvement of teaching, learning, and administrative processes.

Present and apply innovative initiatives and solutions to enhance quality assurance practices.

Coordinate training and professional development in quality-related areas for faculty and staff.

Liaise effectively with external stakeholders, including OAAAQA and other higher education bodies, to ensure ongoing compliance and engagement.

Support various departments across the College to enable them to meet quality assurance requirements and achieve their related objectives.

General Responsibilities

Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the institution.

Develop, implement, and monitor strategic and operational quality plans, ensuring effective mechanisms for tracking progress and preparing periodic progress reports.

Collaborate with senior management to align institutional policies with national higher education priorities.

Facilitate teamwork, communication, and coordination among internal departments to enhance institutional effectiveness.

Participate in institutional committees and strategic initiatives related to quality enhancement.

6

Ensure that the College's practices reflect the principles of transparency, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making.

Requirements


Qualifications

  • Omani nationality.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree from a recognized and accredited university.
  • Formal training or certification from the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) in the field of accreditation.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

  • Proficiency in both Arabic and English, spoken and written.
  • At least three (3) years of proven and progressively responsible experience in quality assurance management or in leading quality projects within higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.
  • Comprehensive understanding of institutional accreditation processes and national quality assurance standards.
  • Strong report-writing skills in English, particularly in applying the ADRI methodology.
  • Ability to design, implement, and evaluate quality assurance and enhancement plans.
  • Knowledge of the National Qualifications Framework and the Higher Education Sector Strategy in Oman.
  • Familiarity with Oman Vision 2040 and its implications for higher education institutions.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within diverse teams.
  • Capacity to utilize data for performance evaluation and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative, practical solutions to institutional quality challenges.
