About the Business Incubatorsعن حاضنات الأعمال

Based on Royal Decree No. 107/2020, which established the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), and in line with Oman Vision 2040, Oman College of Management and Technology (OCMT) established its Business Incubators in February 2023.

استناداً إلى المرسوم السلطاني رقم 107/2020 بإنشاء هيئة تنمية المؤسسات الصغيرة والمتوسطة، وتماشياً مع رؤية عُمان 2040، أنشأت كلية عمان للإدارة والتكنولوجيا حاضنات الأعمال في فبراير 2023.

The Incubation Programmeبرنامج الاحتضان

The programme turns an innovative idea into a start-up business. Each enterprise follows a structured incubation cycle of one to three years in a supervised, low-cost environment that offers workspace, mentoring, training and access to networks.

يحوّل البرنامج الفكرة المبتكرة إلى مشروع ناشئ. ويمرّ كل مشروع بدورة احتضان منظّمة تمتد من سنة إلى ثلاث سنوات، في بيئة خاضعة للإشراف ومنخفضة التكلفة، توفّر مساحة العمل والإرشاد والتدريب وفرص التشبيك.

Who can joinمن يحق له الانضمام

The incubators serve OCMT alumni first, then graduates of other Omani higher education institutions and members of the local community. Applicants must meet the criteria that SMEDA sets for incubated start-ups:

تخدم الحاضنات خريجي الكلية أولاً، ثم خريجي مؤسسات التعليم العالي الأخرى في السلطنة وأفراد المجتمع المحلي. ويجب أن يستوفي المتقدمون المعايير التي تضعها الهيئة للمشاريع الناشئة المحتضنة:

1. 1The enterprise is in its first years of operation (0–3 years).أن يكون المشروع في سنواته الأولى من التشغيل (من 0 إلى 3 سنوات).
2. 2The applicant is dedicated full time, or released from other work, to run the project.أن يتفرغ المتقدم لإدارة المشروع بدوام كامل، أو يكون متفرغاً من أي عمل آخر.
3. 3The applicant is of Omani nationality.أن يكون المتقدم عُماني الجنسية.
4. 4The applicant has an innovative business model.أن يمتلك المتقدم نموذج عمل مبتكراً.
5. 5The project focuses on a new market and supports sectors that advance Oman Vision 2040.أن يستهدف المشروع سوقاً جديدة، ويدعم القطاعات التي تخدم رؤية عُمان 2040.
6. 6The project adds economic value at the level of the Sultanate of Oman.أن يضيف المشروع قيمة اقتصادية على مستوى سلطنة عُمان.

Services and Supportالخدمات والدعم

Incubatees receive workspace, logistics, specialist consultation, training and access to the college’s resources.

تحصل المشاريع المحتضنة على مساحة عمل وخدمات لوجستية واستشارات متخصصة وتدريب، إضافة إلى الاستفادة من موارد الكلية.

Mentoring, consultation and trainingالإرشاد والاستشارة والتدريب

Each incubatee is paired with a named mentor. Mentors agree goals with the incubatee, meet at least monthly, and record the outcome of each meeting in the progress log. OCMT and SMEDA offer consultation and training in areas such as:

يُخصَّص لكل مشروع محتضن مرشد باسمه. ويتفق المرشد مع المشروع على الأهداف، ويلتقي به مرة واحدة على الأقل شهرياً، ويدوّن نتيجة كل لقاء في سجل المتابعة. وتقدّم الكلية والهيئة الاستشارات والتدريب في مجالات منها:

Workshops, events and networkingورش العمل والفعاليات والتشبيك

The incubators organise and conduct workshops for OCMT students and alumni, host promotion and marketing events, and link incubatees to business opportunities. Incubatees are invited to OCMT and SMEDA meetings and events related to the incubators.

تنظّم الحاضنات ورش عمل لطلبة الكلية وخريجيها وتنفّذها، وتستضيف فعاليات الترويج والتسويق، وتربط المشاريع المحتضنة بفرص الأعمال. وتُوجَّه الدعوة للمشاريع المحتضنة لحضور اجتماعات وفعاليات الكلية والهيئة ذات الصلة بالحاضنات.

Access to funding and marketsالوصول إلى التمويل والأسواق

SMEDA operates the Incubators Stimulus Initiative, which supports licensed business incubators, including incubators inside academic institutions, to create a business environment that encourages entrepreneurs, SMEs, start-ups and entrepreneurial projects. The incubators help incubatees to prepare for SMEDA programmes, bank financing and investor conversations, and introduce them to buyers, partners and suppliers.

تنفّذ الهيئة مبادرة تحفيز الحاضنات، التي تدعم حاضنات الأعمال المرخّصة، ومنها الحاضنات داخل المؤسسات الأكاديمية، لتهيئة بيئة أعمال تشجّع رواد الأعمال والمؤسسات الصغيرة والمتوسطة والمشاريع الناشئة والمشاريع الريادية. وتساعد الحاضنات المشاريع المحتضنة على الاستعداد لبرامج الهيئة والتمويل المصرفي ومحادثات المستثمرين، كما تعرّفها بالمشترين والشركاء والموردين.

How to Applyطريقة التقديم

Openings are announced through OCMT channels and SMEDA. Applicants are selected on the merit of their business idea and their commitment to the project.

   The premises handover and Charter of Conduct are signed, and the authorised representative is appointed.

Governance and Partnersالحوكمة والشركاء

The College Dean holds institutional oversight. The Business Incubators Management Team runs the incubators day to day and answers to the Dean. SMEDA South Al Batinah supervises the incubators, and ICEU coordinates industry and community engagement.

يتولى عميد الكلية الإشراف المؤسسي. ويدير فريق إدارة حاضنات الأعمال الحاضنات يومياً ويرفع تقاريره إلى العميد. وتشرف هيئة تنمية المؤسسات الصغيرة والمتوسطة بمحافظة جنوب الباطنة على الحاضنات، وتنسّق وحدة التواصل مع الصناعة والمجتمع (ICEU) الشراكات مع القطاع الصناعي والمجتمع.
