related fields. Job Description:
We are looking for a Research Associate who
will be responsible for working on an IFRS and Environmental Disclosure Practices
project based on Listed Entities in the Sultanate of Oman. Project Summary:
The goal of this research project is to
develop a holistic integrated and incisive model/ framework that will
ascertain the degree of disclosure by Muscat Stock Exchange listed entities
and will also capture variables that typify organizational attributes. The
research method proposes to encapsulate survey and content analysis method,
which encompasses previous studies underpinning contemporary issues
associated with this phenomenon. The main essence of this project is to
employ disclosure index to elicit the degree of compliance of Muscat Stock
Exchange listed Entities in the financial services and industrial sectors to
the disclosure requirements of IFRS. The proposed framework will be used to
assess the contents and extent of the disclosure activities of the listed
entities in the Sultanate of Oman.
Responsibilities:

Conduct literature reviews and gather relevant data on IFRS and
Environmental Disclosure Practices. ·
Analyze collected data and contribute to the interpretation of
results.
·
Collaborate with team members to prepare research papers,
reports and presentations.
·
Participate in meetings and discussions with stakeholders and
contribute insightful input.
·
Assist in administrative tasks related to the project.
·
Submission of deliverables on time.
Skills Required:
·
Familiarity with research software (e.g., E views, SPSS, Stata
and NVivo for qualitative analysis). ·
Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and
their implications for corporate reporting.
·
Research background with ability to read and understand
methodologies in research papers.
·
Good communication skills and good team-player.
Duration and Type of Contract:
The research associate position is a full-time
contract for 6 months.
